Action Day Adventureland - Weekly Curriculum

Week of June 18
Theme – Welcome Friends
The beginning of summer opens with a week of fun games as we get to know everyone and will include a lot of team games, introducing camper choice time and awarding of the first ever, United Sports Spirit Award. On Thursday we will celebrate World Handshake Day where campers will invent a new handshake when they meet new people. The special event is a Welcome Party.
Field Trip – Thursday, June 21 - Bowling at the Palace in Downingtown.

Week of June 25
Theme – Lets Go Phillies!
We honor the Phillies this week with everything from wearing favorite Phillies gear to having our own Phillies kickball tournament and Phillies trivia. The week ends with all campers participating in the ulitimate Phillies Phan competition.
Field Trip - And, to top off the week, the field trip on Wednesday is a tour of Citizens Bank Park.

Week of July 2 (no camp July 4)
Theme – Celebrate Red, White and Blue
We honor America this week by learning how to write a camper’s Declaration for the perfect Action Day Camp and end the week with an awesome celebration.
Field Trip – Thursday, July 5 to Marsh Creek State Park for swimming.

Week of July 9
Theme – Our Animal Friends
Our younger campers can bring in their favorite stuffed animals on Tuesday which is national Teddy Bear day.
We will have a visit from the ASPCA during the week.
Field Trip – Thursday, July 12 to the Elmwood Park Zoo.

Week of July 16
Theme – Super Stars
Super Stars week will focus on all of the super star talent we have in camp this week. We will also have a sports super stars competition. Friday is lollipop day.
Field Trip – Thursday, July 19 to Marsh Creek State Park to go swimming.

Week of July 23
Theme – Carnival Fun
A fun filled week with all campers getting involved with the camp carnival. We will have a special activity at the carnival to be kept secret until that day. We will have Tell a Joke day on Tuesday and play some other fun carnival games. It is Merry Go Round day on Wednesday and Walk on Stilts day on Friday.

Week of July 30
Theme – Water, Water, Everywhere
The official water week at camp takes place this week with a different water activity each day. Could be water balloon launchers to, water balloon games plus the water slides and water guns. Watermelon Day celebrated on Friday.
Field Trip – Thursday, August 2 to Marsh Creek for swimming.

Week of August 6
Theme – Action Day Olympics
Not only will we have our own Action Day Olympics each team will create their own Olympic event, one that has never been played before including Soccrosse, a combination of soccer and lacrosse. Medals will be awarded to all campers.
Field Trip – Thursday, August 5 to Caln Roller Rink where we will have an “Olympic” roller skating event.

Week of August 13
Theme – MTV United Sports
A lot of music and dance this week at camp. We will have a talent show on Friday as well as a dance contest. Thursday will be tell a joke day.
Field Trip – Thursday, July 16 - bowling at the Palace where we will bowl to some cool music.

Week of August 20
Theme – Food Glorious Food
The last week camp will be full of fun and food. Friday’s party will be the biggest end-of-summer party of all time and will celebrate National Waffle Day.
Field Trip – Thursday, August 23 speaking of food, our field trip this week is to Herr’s Factory in Nottingham. We will get to sample some warm chips out of the oven.
