Volleyball Summer Camp
Camp Weeks: July 5 & August 2
Volleyball Camp
This summer camp is designed to focus on all aspects of the game with an emphasis on fundamentals. Every day there will be fun, challenging competitions and a learning environment where players will enjoy developing their skills. The goal of our camps is that each player whether a beginner or advanced is taught the proper techniques of the game. Each day will improve conditioning and strength to build coordination and overall body development of the player. Players will practice passing, serving, setting, defensive positioning and offensive attacks.
List of Skills that will be taught and focused per week:
Beginner / Intermediate week
- Serving: Underhand and overhand, and placement on court
- Passing: Bumping, overhand, body positioning, posture and movement
- Setting: Hand position, height of ball, accuracy and touch
- Attack: Approach, footwork, contact and choice of hit
- Game play: positioning, serve receive, target passes, choices and talking
- Defense: movement, rolling and digging
Intermediate / Advanced week
- Serving: Overhand, toss, contact, placement, top spin, floaters and jump serve
- Passing: Movement, decision making, posture, and overhand
- Setting: Front, back sets, soft hands, heights, strength and location
- Attack: Approach, footwork, contact, choice, use of the block, dinking and push
- Specialized Positioning: Outside hitter, Middle blocker, opposite, setter, and libero
- Defense: Digging, positioning, blocking, soft block, coverage, and rolling
- Game play: positioning, serve receive, covering, choices, talking and free balls
What to bring:
* Water bottle
* Sneakers
* Knee pads (if you desire)

Deposit Option: Non-refundable deposit of $75.00 per week per camper.

List of Coaching Goals for each week:
July 5th week (ages 8 -14 who are beginners / intermediate level)
- Have Fun while learning the skills of volleyball
- Develop correct techniques in body positioning
- Progress in ability and confidence through out the camp week
- Understand the game and rules
- Build friendships and relationships
August 2nd week (ages 12 - 17 who are intermediate / advanced level)
- Have Fun developing individual skills
- Group players based on ability and specific positions more than age
- Gain a better understanding of team play
- Realize and develop each player's Strengths and Weaknesses
- Introduce and use proper volleyball terms for game play
- Utilize drills to increase speed, strength, and reaction
- Team drills to simulate "real game speed and positioning"
- Build understanding of teamwork and specialized positioning
