Tournament Rules and Policies

Field of Play

  • 70’ x 50’ Turf Fields

Equipment

  • No Metal or Screw in Cleats
  • Players with casts and/or braces must cover with soft material
  • In case of a uniform conflict, the HOME team will be required to change uniforms
  • Players must remove all jewelry prior to a game

Number of Players

  • Game play is 8 v 8 format. 7 field players and a goalie
  • Maximum Roster is 16
  • Substitutions will be made on the fly. Substitutes need to wait to enter the field until removing player is 3 yards from the team’s sideline or off the field

Gameplay

  • 3 pool play games guaranteed
  • Games are two 22 min halves with 3 min halftimes
  • Overtime: There will be no overtime during pool play. Overtime in bracket play will go straight to a 3 player penalty kick. If tied after initial 3 players penalty kicks will continue until 2nd team kicking misses

Tournament Rules

  • No offsides
  • No slide tackling. Slide tackles are not permitted and will result in an automatic yellow card and possible red card depending on severity of injury to another player. Slide tackle fouls will result in a Direct Kick for opposing team
  • A player may slide to save a ball from going out of bounds or in the net as long as an opposing player is not within the vicinity
  • Defending players must be 5 yards away from any restart.
  • Any ball that goes out of bounds will result in a throw in or corner kick
  • The goalkeeper cannot throw, punt or drop kick a ball directly over the midfield line without touching a player or the ground. If penalized, a Direct kick will be rewarded to the opposing team.
  • The goalkeeper must place the ball on the ground for the ball to go directly over the midfield line in the air
  • Goal Kicks can be taken anywhere inside the box
  • Substitutions must wait to enter the field until removed player is 3 yards from benches sideline or the field.

Standings and Tie Breakers

  • Rankings in each age division is based on wins and losses
    1. 3 points for a win
    2. 1 point for a tie
    3. 0 points for a loss
  • A tie breaking system will be used as follows:
    1. Overall record
    2. Head to Head competition (If there are 3 or more teams tied this will not apply unless 1 team has beaten the other 2 teams
    3. Total goals against
    4. Goal Differential

Misconduct

Yellow Card: Any player that receives a yellow card will receive a two-minute penalty. The team of the offending player must play down a player for the duration of this penalty. The cautioned player will be allowed to enter back into the game after the two minutes is over or the opposing team scores a goal

Red Card: Any player that receives a red card must immediately leave the area of play for the remainder of the match and will be suspended for the following match. The team with the red-carded player will have to play short handed for the remainder of the game.

Any player receiving a red card must be reported to the field marshal or tournament director. Failure to give a name or fake name will result in punishment for the whole team. Team could be removed from tournament

Fighting, spitting on another player will not be tolerated. This will result in an automatic red card and possible termination for the tournament
