YOUTH GYMNASTICS CLASSES

First and foremost our mindset is that gymnastics should be fun from the beginning; filled with new friends and new experiences. Our gymnastics classes provide the perfect place for your child to explore new talents, take on a challenge and improve their skills. The types of basic level skills taught can vary based on the age and ability of the children in the class. Each skill is a building block toward a more advanced skill.

We are not a competitive gymnastics gym. Our classes are very much introductory level which focus on developing strength and flexibility, as well as good listening skills. They’ll also help youngsters become comfortable with the gymnastics equipment – and the often discombobulating sensation of being upside down for some skills! NOTE: Students should not try advanced skills on their own until their coach lets them know they are ready.

Our levels are not comparable to the competitive levels. To simplify things we have changed Rec Level I to Beginner Gymnastics; Rec Level II to Intermediate Gymnastics; Rec Level III to Advanced Gymnastics; and Rec Level IV as Elite Gymnastics. If you have any questions with our changes, please contact us.

Program Information

Classes run year-round, once a week. During the summer months we also offer Gymnastics Camp options. We do our best to accommodate everyone by offering convenient class times available on weekdays and weekends to accommodate your family’s busy schedule. Private lessons can also be scheduled; to coordinate a private lesson you must contact Brendan O’Neill at gymnastics@unitedsports.net.

  • We’ll provide a fun environment for your toddler to learn a wide variety of movements, helping them develop and refine gross motor skills. They’ll move at their own pace with you by their side.
  • *If child is able to walk participation is possible. Please call 610-466-7100.
  • An administration fee is required for program registration. This admin fee is good for one year, once paid, covers all admin costs for all programs for the year. The admin fee must be paid prior to registration, or you will receive an error.
  • Scroll below for more details on the current class offerings:
  • Girls & Boys; Ages 18 months to 12 years
    • Toddle Bugs – Ages 18 months to 3 years (parent & child class)
    • Mini Gymnastics – Ages 3 to 4 years

    • Advanced Gymnastics – Ages 7 to 12 years
    • Elite Gymnastics – Ages 7 to 12 years

NOTE: The age groupings are a general guideline. Gymnasts can test out of a level depending on their skill level. Early in a session the coaches will generally do a consultation for placement purposes to make sure that young gymnasts are in a class appropriate for their skill level. At the conclusion of a session the coaches will complete an evaluation indicating if they are ready to advance to the next level.

  • Come Prepared:
  • This sounds a bit like stating the obvious, however coaches will tell you it is worth repeating; it starts with arriving on time. Being late may mean the student will not have time to warm up properly, not to mention the disruption it may cause to the other students when someone joins late.
  • Bring your child to class dressed and ready to participate. Wear fitted clothes. For girls, a leotard, compression shorts, leggings, and footless tights are generally fine. For boys, a compression shirt or t-shirt which can be tucked in and athletic shorts or compression shorts would work.
  • No jewelry should be worn. If ears are newly pierced and earrings cannot be taken out, they must be low profile studs. Rings, necklaces, bracelets (excluding medical) and dangling earrings should be left at home.
  • Long hair should be tied back. The key is to keep it out of the face so it is not a distraction or something they need to swipe aside when they finish a skill. Elastic headbands can be another help here as well.
  • Bring a water bottle. It sets a good habit for your child on the importance of hydration.
  • Finally, have them use the bathroom before class. Especially with the youngest students, when one kid has to go during class, suddenly they all need to go!
  • *Administration Fee required. This yearly administration fee, once paid, covers all individual registrations for all programs throughout the year. Learn more.
  • *Almost every activity has a minimum number of registrants needed to cover the expenses or to make it enjoyable for everyone (think sports games and scrimmages). Classes may be subject to cancellation if there is insufficient enrollment. If you see an activity you like, don’t hesitate to sign up today!
  • *All registrations are on a first come; first served basis.

*No spaces in any class are guaranteed without payment.

MAKE-UP CLASSES

During our summer session, we offer reduced rates to take into account classes missed for vacations and other summer fun. Make-up classes are not typically offered during summer.

You are allowed to make up any missed classes within the session in which you are enrolled, subject to space availability. We typically offer many other class times, so usually this is not a problem; however we cannot guarantee that space will be available. And note that you cannot carryover make-up classes into later sessions. To coordinate a make up class you must contact Angela Bush at gymnastics@unitedsports.net.

FREE TRIAL CLASSES

We do offer one free trial class to new customers to see if their children enjoy the Gymnastics experience. The free trial policy is usually limited to one free class per child. To coordinate a free trial class you must contact Angela Bush at gymnastics@unitedsports.net.

  • Customers may only do trials in classes that have space available.
  • Free trials done during the first 2 weeks of a session will go towards the current session enrollment.
